Portpatrick Spring Sing

18 of us met in Portpatrick – a tiny fishing village on the west coast of Galloway. We sang in an unpromisingly bleak village hall  - but with great acoustics – for 3 days over the Easter holidays and together made something extraordinary happen. I was co-teaching with the amazingly gifted opera singer Paul Keohone and I loved it that we each brought something completely different to the week. www.paulkeohone.com

Nominated for: Favourite Residential Workshop, Golden Chutney Award

An award for the residential workshops I most enjoyed teaching on in 2011.

  • About The Golden Chutney Awards

    Golden Chutney Award

Back in 2007 when a group of us were recording songs for To Grace The Earth – a book of short and easy warm-up songs produced by the Natural Voice Practitioners Network, we devised an unofficial awards system as we recorded our way through 65 songs.

So many of the songs were remarkable for different reasons and we spent the week making up categories on a whim then nominating songs. We also ate a lot of chutney that week and so the Golden Chutney Awards were born.

For the past few years I’ve had an unofficial awards scheme running in my head so I’ve decided to formalize it. Winners will be announced in the first week of January and awarded with a certificate or jar of chutney – if they’d like one!
