“Being a voice worker is a bit like working for a roadside rescue firm – people are so pleased to see you. You engage in psychical midwifery, alchemy, psychology, body work, musical direction, teaching, information sharing, artistry, poetry, dance, nurturing, consciousness-raising, leadership, philosophical enquiry, challenging, directing, nurturing, healing, partying.”
This lovely quote is from Katherine Zesserson, director of Learning and Participation at Sage Gateshead from an interview with Caroline Bithell in 2005. It’s from Caroline’s wonderful book A Different Voice, a Different Song published last year by Oxford University Press.
